Following the Light
When Lucien is asked by her mother, the castle's herbalist, to collect certain powerful plants in nature for a healing concoction, she doesn't realize this request will lead to an opportunity to be of service to a noblewoman's child. This is a story of courage and leadership when a child is asked to step forward even when they aren't feeling confident or ready.
Fire in the Garden
There is a most Wondrous Garden filled with beautiful flowers and grasses and shrubs and fruit trees - but it wasn't always so abundant, joyful and full of variety. The fairies that tend all the flowers gather regularly to hear the story about how they got to where they are now - about the native plants, the supremacy of the peony in the new garden and then the fire that gave them a chance to start anew with humility and true community.
The Harness-Maker
Albert and his family left their hometown of Bergheim, with a pocket-full of money and a dream. The dream was to live in the big city of Strasbourg and to open an harness-making shop. When they got there, however, they realized that the big city was not what they had hoped. Hardship endured for the family, and yet, they found their way from insecurity to trust in an unexpected twist of fate.
The Constable’s Awakening
Clarence is the constable in a large remote town next to a large spring fed pool. In the past the Constable’s job was to protect the property of the Baron of that town, but generations later, his job is to protect everyone in the town. Or at least that is what Clarence thought. When local soldiers return from war, they bring with them new perspectives on their home town. They expose how one population has always had power over another and that the Constable has been an important role in maintaining that oppression. Clarence resists at first but then, after a series of revelations, he sees his town and role with new eyes.
Everyone is Right
An old village between two mountains has three basket weavers that have strong opinions on how baskets should be made. When a crisis comes to the village, these three weavers have three differing opinions on how to handle it. This results in the village population dividing up, and things escalate to name calling and even threats! Luckily one of the assistants steps forward and prioritizes service and empathy over being right - and is able to help the town realize what is truly important.
The Grippe
When Vironika heard from the Tinker that a sickness was sweeping through a nearby city, she immediately pulled her children inside. She remembered the stories her grandmother told her about the Grippe, or a wicked flu that took so many lives - and she would take no chances. Soon others in town did the same and it wasn’t long before they all realized that being apart from each other yielded some difficult consequences. Luckily the well had a magical solution.
Call the Blacksmith
A small town at the edge of an enormous forest that stretches hundreds, if not thousands of miles to the north, has a problem with dragons. Every few years a dragon arrives and the townspeople historically panic. But now they have Soren the blacksmith, who was trained in four different methods of smithing - four methods that also, it would seem, work on dragons.
The Church Board
Hiram and Sariah were at a standstill. As co-chairs of the Church board it was their responsibility to help the board make an important decision: whether or not to keep the current Reverend. Hiram held the conservative view whereas Sariah held the progressive view and it seemed nothing would move either of them. That is, until Hiram happened to have a drink from the well…
The Wish
Linda and her husband, the tailor, are blessed with a child who is spirited and full of life. This was their wish. But as Adri grew, her mother became more and more overwhelmed with the child’s high energy and dramatic expression. Linda was then inspired to return to the well, to wish that her child’s spirit have moments of calm, where she instead receives some of the well’s wisdom.
